I think just about everyone who’s noticed my Facebook status in the past week is already aware of this, but in case you missed it, as of last Monday I am the proud owner of a 2-month-old kitten by the name of Lucy.
Uh, the camera’s over here, Lucy…
Let’s try that again:
There’s that cute face! Incidentally, she’s charming the socks off of just about everyone who sees her. I took her to the vet Saturday to get her checked over and he gushed far more than I would have expected over how cute she is.
I can’t deny she has an adorable little face:
She also, however, has ADHD tendencies, which basically means that if she’s not sleeping, she’s tearing around at approximately 100 mph and jumping up on everything. She also has yet to learn to keep her claws tucked in when playing with people or other cats (much to Twilight’s annoyance). I’m told this highly rambunctious stage is fairly typical for young kitties and that they eventually outgrow it. I suppose we were lucky with Twilight; she was always more laid-back. Here’s hoping Lucy decides to follow her example, preferably sooner rather than later… She can be quite cuddly and affectionate when she wants to be, though: at the moment she’s sprawled across my chest, holding my left arm prisoner, so I’m having to type this post one-handed. At least she’s not walking all over the keyboard, hitting caps lock. 😛
In other news, after being unemployed for all of one week, I’m back at the nougat factory for another 2 weeks. The busy period is over for now, so it’s a nice change of pace. It is kind of weird to see only half the usual number of people, but the others definitely earned their vacation time. 🙂
One more cute Lucy picture:
I knew there was a reason I kept those. 😉
