And since spring has finally sprung, I took some pictures of our flowers earlier (also, it was an excuse to be able to make that horribly lame pun in the title):

Last Saturday I broke with tradition somewhat and instead of taking pictures of classes, I wandered around for about an hour, snapping pictures of whatever caught my eye.

This included horses being silly:

"Neener!"

“Neener!”

Or posing:

"Why yes, I am naturally this fabulous."

“Why yes, I am naturally this fabulous.”

Lots of flowers in bloom at the moment, which provided some very nice camera fodder:

Naturally, at the end I found myself by the ponies’ pasture and took these little gems:

I’m still working on editing my pics from last month, but hopefully that won’t take too long. In the meantime, here’s part 1.

First, the mandatory pic of Lucy:

A little flowery prettiness:

And now some horsey goodness from the June 2nd dressage show (I think I may have gone slightly overboard):

Super Lucie!
This past Sunday was my riding school’s end-of-the-year show, and despite the rain, we had a pretty decent turn-out and a lot of fun. Thankfully it only drizzled on and off during the morning, which allowed us to do the costumed jumping show. I actually didn’t originally intend to participate, but a little urging from Fred and a quick rummage through my closet found me signed up and dressed up. While waiting for my turn, I took a few pictures of the others:

“It’s-a me, Mario!”

We had quite a few “Barbie” ponies

Super Lucie and Palou saved the day again!

If there was a prize for Wackiest Costume, Manon would have won, hands down.

As for me, well, my two rounds had an awful lot of this:

Apparently Naika and I are having some communication issues. Oh well. I did eventually get her to jump all the jumps, and I didn’t fall.

There was more in the afternoon (vaulting and dressage routines and such), but I didn’t get any pictures – no good ones, anyway. I’d handed off my camera when it was my turn to jump, and the girl I gave it to handed it off to someone else, who then left it by the jumping arena – in the pouring rain. Not surprisingly, the lens got all fogged up and the few pictures I took were very blurry. Thankfully, there was no permanent damage, and Tuesday I was able to grab these gems while heading downtown:

I was greeted by Lucy when I got back:

“And just where have you been, Missy?”

After about a dozen failed attempts, I finally got a clear (somewhat) close-up shot of one of the bees in the lavendar patch:

My dad just got back from a 9-week trip to Burkina Faso, and, as always, he brought some gifts he’d found at local markets and such. Among them was this guy:

He’s made out of motorcycle parts.

And now if you’ll excuse me, I think a nap may be in order:

Or maybe lunch. Yes, definitely lunch.

Pictures – June

Alrighty, we’re just about caught up now…

Before I get to the pictures, I just want to say thank you to everyone who’s read, liked, commented, etc. over the last few days; it makes all the hours of sorting, editing and posting worth it. ๐Ÿ™‚

The weekend of the 2nd, Jess invited a bunch of us over to her place for a weekend of fun, fellowship, and a baptismal service at her church on Sunday. We spent Saturday afternoon down by the river:

I told Thomas that if the army doesn’t work our for him, he could always be a model:

Say cheese, Geremy! ๐Ÿ™‚

“Thoughtful” pose

After church, there was a potluck, and let’s just say it was entertaining:

In the following week, my habit of taking my camera everywhere paid off. For instance, coming back from an errand downtown, I found Lucy perched on the wall and got to get a couple of outdoor “portrait” shots:

Walking just about anywhere in my neighborhood is excellent camera fodder now that the flowers are in bloom:

I think I’ve gotten into the habit of ending my posts with a silly picture of Lucy…
