Hello everyone!

I meant to post this much sooner, but between my new job and recent events, it kind of got pushed down the priority list (okay, and I’ve been procrastinating too).

Anyhow, December (and therefore winter) may be upon us, but these pics from June should warm you right up. They’re from the barn’s end-of-the-year show, which was a ton of fun and featured some pretty awesome costumes:

Madness, that’s what. The good kind. The kind that involves carsick hamsters, nearly falling out of chairs laughing at mealtimes because one of you told a hilariously embarassing story, running all over downtown to find THE perfect birthday present for your sister, crazy games of Scattegories (in which your sisters get VERY creative), baking chocolate chip cookies while singing along to a musical your parents (and hers) were involved in MANY years ago, organizing a joint birthday party for her and your sister, and babysitting her 2 1/2-year-old while everyone else goes out for the evening.

Looks like it’s just you and me tonight, kiddo.

We’ve got a budding artist on our hands, it seems.

The hamsters recovered nicely from their rather harrowing journey down from Lyon (3 hours of which were spent stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic). They didn’t seem too fazed by Lucy, though had the cage not been properly closed it could have been a completely different story:

This was a daily occurence.

Friday afternoon/evening was spent making the birthday cakes (yellow and carrot, as usual). There was a lot of cream cheese frosting left over (I think I’ll have to half the recipe next time) and Audrey and Cyrielle decided it would be a shame to let it all go to waste. So they got out some spoons and dug in:

Meanwhile, Emma happily scarfed down her yogurt:

Then proceeded to try to entertain “Loo-cee” (who was not in the least impressed):

And then wanted to look at the funny pictures with us:

Saturday we ended up with a house full of people, not the least of whom was Joshua (who’s grown like a weed in the past month, and has already started to walk).

Melissa brought her dog Wilson, and we quickly discovered that all he needs to entertain himself is an empty soda bottle and a few people to chase him:

Emma decided to play by the pool for a bit:

Fabien (Melissa’s brother) brought over his Wii and Just Dance 2, which provided lots of entertainment after lunch:

We only had two number 2 candles so we had to get creative. 😉

Don’t ask. Just don’t.

Olivier showed up as things were winding down and stayed the night. The next morning we introduced him and Cyrielle to a typical American brunch, as well as Reese’s peanut butter cups. Yummmy… 🙂

This was something we got treated to every day (often several times a day):

She’s already got part of “Au Clair de la Lune” down – I think we’ve got yet another musician in the family…

One last cute picture for the road:
