Two weeks after Isis made her grand entrance, it was this little guy’s turn. Meet Indiana!

Naturally, he’s already charmed the socks off of everyone (myself included – LOOK AT THAT FACE).

Also, Etoile (Isis’ mama) says hi!

This little cutie was born last week and everyone’s already smitten with her. I think you can see why; isn’t she adorable? 🙂

In addition to being super cute, she’s also quite the cuddle-bug. When I was at the barn this afternoon, she wanted ALL the petting.

Oh, and since I’m sure you’re wondering, her name (pending final approval from Fred) is Isis. Also, one of our other mares is expecting and due just about any day now, so I will probably have more foal pictures to share very soon!

In the meantime, have a picture of Meknes, who as of last Tuesday night is no longer our youngest resident:

Yesterday was, quite frankly, gorgeous, so I decided to take advantage of it and do a long-overdue photoshoot with Couelita (pronounced Kwell-ee-TAH, incidentally; and before you ask, I have no idea what it means).

We started off in the indoor arena (a safe place for her to blow off some steam if need be and an easy-ish way for me to get some action shots):

Then we went outside:

Isn’t she pretty? 🙂

Sunday’s show went really well, in spite of the sky intermittently spitting on us (April showers have arrived in full force this week). Couelita and I did very well: we didn’t place, but we jumped clear both rounds, which is a first for us (until now the best was one out of two). My friend Ilona rode her for a third round and they jumped clear as well, which is even more impressive considering Ilona had only jumped her twice before. So I can safely say that the last year of hard work is definitely paying off. 🙂

It was also a good day for pictures. I didn’t take quite as many as usual, but the vast majority turned out well (usually I have a ton of blurry ones, but I think I’ve – finally –  managed to figure out how to focus properly). Here’s a sample:

We have another show coming up next month, and hopefully I’ll have some other stuff to take pictures of in the meantime (weather permitting, of course).

As promised, here are some of my favorite pictures from last week’s show (which went really well, by the way; a couple of minor oopses but overall I’m very pleased with how we did). Enjoy! 🙂

And on that note, we’re done (for now). See you next time! 🙂

Last month I participated in my first jumping competition of the year and overall it went pretty well. This was my second official jumping show with Couelita, my new project horse (Blue sadly had to be re-homed due to an injury last year), and while we didn’t place in either of our classes, we didn’t have any major mistakes, so I’m calling it a win. 🙂

The lighting wasn’t great, so I didn’t get very many good shots, but a few turned out nice:
