The weekend before last, Audrey, my mom and I went to Cardiff for a conference (which was great, by the way). We arrived a day early in order to do a little sightseeing. It was very gray and wet the entire weekend so we didn’t get to wander around quite as much as I would have liked, but I did get some nice shots of Cardiff bay:
We also seized the opportunity to indulge my Whovian side:
Hey, is that K-9?
Of course, I had to get a picture with “my” Doctor:
He wasn’t all that talkative, though. 😉
Oh, hello Davros…
Uh-oh, don’t blink…
No, seriously, don’t blink!
Yeah, I had fun. 🙂 Our tour guide probably enjoyed my reactions as much as I enjoyed the Experience itself: upon noticing my geeked-out expression, she said she had the same look on her face the entire first year she worked there. As she put it, “When you arrive at work in the morning and the first thing your boss says is, “Go clean the TARDIS,” you know you’re in the right line of work.” I quite agree. 😀
Great post.
The Dr Who exhibit made me think of my younger brother Tom, he watched the Dr Who episode with the gas mask child, do you remember it? It scared him to death, screamy nightmares, he couldn’t walk past a certain dress shops windows because all the mannequins wore gas masks. One day my Mum took us to see a tardis at Frodsham’s craft village Ladyheys in a crystal shop and to overcome his fear persuaded him to hold a gas mask and eventually put it near his face, he watched us doing it, he got over his fear when he realised the mask wouldn’t stick to his face ;). He’d love visiting this place in Cardiff.
Ps thanks for all your support on Artist Signal you’re a pal 😉

Ah yes. The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances. And that was just Steven Moffat warming up; he really likes scaring the pants off of us. 😉
I’m sure your brother would love the Doctor Who Experience. It’s very well done and has loads of goodies for fans, new and old.
And you’re quite welcome. I’m happy to support a fellow singer/music lover. 🙂
